黄德純Wong, Foey born April 1849 was a champion of the people living in Tehama County. Referred to as the Mayor Chinatown, his efforts would delay the precipitous decline of Chinese American residents from leaving Tehama County for at least two generations. He had a Cantonese funeral, celebrating his life with rituals at his store, the family hired a procession band from San Francisco and whalers to mourn while walking in the hearse from Chinatown to Oak Hill Cemetery.
